Intel Socket B vs AMD Socket AM3

@ 2006/11/13
We take a look at two new sockets offerings from Intel and AMD in 2008. Socket B is LGA1366 due to the integrated memory controller and AM3 is most likely still be Socket 940. The first CPU offering from Intel to be on Socket B will be Bloomfield from the Nehalem family while the first 45nm processors from AMD will be based on Socket AM3. Both Socket B and AM3 will support DDR3 1066/1333/1600 memories and interconnect technology will be CSI (Common Serial Interconnect) and Hypertransport 3.0 respectively

the question will be. will it work ok from the first time.... AMD has a lot of experience with memcontrollers after so many years... INtel on the other hand has a lot of experience with fsb and cache. one thing that makes cache absolete: mem controller.... so they cut in their own experience

unfortunately, yes.

Intergrated MEM controller for Intel is interesting

but that's all it says?
