AMD helps Intel get back its market share

AMD appears to be almost completely neglecting its consumer market in an effort to make inroads into the corporate and enterprise market. The cost to AMD could be catastrophic.

Uh im not totally sure if I can understand your english, but I'm more concerned with the fact there isn't a new architechture planned till 08 ( I think ??) . Hopefully a shrinking of manufacturing processes will allow them to push their chips further and become more competitive with Intel, but In the mean time I haven't even seen a motherboard for this 4x4 platform thats so hyped.

So what is AMD offering till 08 ??? It just makes me sad I've always been an AMD fan. At least when the P4 was beating the XP you could pick up a mobile for $100 or so and OC it to a 3200+ or higher (easily I might add).

Hexus talks about supply's you about performance in 32bit....

for 3months now intel has the perfromance crown from the more than 3years of AMD (if you calculate the impossible supply in august too.....

So what are you complaining about, its only as of a +300eur chip that the intel one is interesting enough to buy and all this can change within a few months depending on how low AMD will sell the x2 6000. they are ramping 65nm (so it hurts for a while to pull down produktion in fab36) and they wil have enough supply by the end of year to deliver enough 65nm cheap cpu's to oem and enough high-end to retail.

I agree, I've been an AMD fan for some time, but if AMD doesn't offer anything that can compete with Conroe in the same price range, then I think ill be using an Intel chip for the first time in a long time. That is if AMD offers nothing new from a performance standpoint, in the near future.
