Foxconn P9657AA-8KS2H Motherboard

All-in-all the Foxconn P9657AA-8KS2H is a solid board for anyone looking to upgrade to what is now arguably the fastest platform for almost any task, provided you got the right CPU of course. With the low prices of the Pentium D, it would be a great complement for an entry level machine with great potential for cheap Core 2 Duo upgrading in the future. What’s more, despite this being a mainstream part, the board is bundled with software that’s actually useful in keeping your hardware up-to-date without sacrificing stability and all the overclocking features are available for getting more out of your machine.

only mentioned the boot part, you need 4 floppy disks if you can not boot from the Windows CD. Either he configured his CDrom as slave (which can cause problems when trying to boot from it), the Windows CD used was not boot-able, or there is indeed a problem with booting from PATA connected optical drives.

if that chipped-on PATA controller on this P965 mobo (does not natively support PATA) is not configured correctly, it can cause this no-boot issue... I guess. Maybe a BIOS update will fix it?

Bit confused by that review. Was he saying that he had to load Windows from Floppy's because the PATA CD wouldn't allow it?
