@ 2006/08/22ARCTIC COOLING presents a new series of low noise optimized PC-case fan in 80 and 120mm size.
Pfäffikon/ Switzerland, 22.08.2006. The Swiss fan manufacturer ARCTIC COOLING launches a new Arctic Fan L (low speed) series. In comparison to the current Arctic Fan series the Arctic Fan L series boasts even lower noise levels. The fan blades were optimized to achieve larger airflow and higher static pressure. Vibrations generated by the running fan are absorbed by an unique patented vibration dampener. The Arctic Fan L series is both RoHS and WEEE conform. As all ARCTIC COOLING products these case fans assure a long lifetime and have a 6 year warranty.
Both models will be available by beginning of October 2006. The MSRP is only USD 5.99 (80
mm) and USD 9.99 (120 mm).

Comparing the new "L" 120mm to the older one:
[*] L series: 1000rpm / 37.0 CFM / 20dBA (= 0,037CFM per rotation)[*] Older series: 1500rpm / 56.3 CFM / 23.5dBA (= 0,03753CFM per rotation)
Undervolting the Older series to 1000rpm "should" deliver same CFM.
