Viewsonic VX922 19" LCD

Five years ago, when a pixel response time of less than 50ms was considered to be good, the drawbacks of using an LCD monitor were easily noticeable. While they were acceptable for desktop tasks and office applications, if you were to run a game or play a movie it would most likely become a blurry, ghosted mess, unless there was little to no movement. It was for this reason alone that I purposefully avoided buying an LCD monitor at that time, instead opting for a Sony G420, a 19” Aperture grille CRT, which served me well until it started acting up recently. These days high end CRT monitors are all but extinct, and for good reason – LCD’s have improved leaps and bounds in recent times, particularly when it comes to pixel response. These days 8 and 4ms monitors are common, but ViewSonic have recently released the VX922, a 19” screen with a pixel response time of just 2ms
