Only thing holding ubuntu back from world domination is that gay korean guy at the helpdesk.

I don't say it's a bad idea, but with Microsoft ending support for SP1 systems, halting updates on illegal XP version, this AutoPatcher may be the only way to get updates and this might attract attention from Microsoft

What if you have a genuine package but no inet (haha, no inet) or a slow 14K dial-up connection (haha, dial-up) ... would it be illegal to dl autopatcher on another pc and install it to the first pc mentioned ?
Your connection doesn't even matter, as long as you have a genuine package you are entitled to receive updates, one way or another
And, as said, the autopatcher comes with extra goodies which makes your windows os run better

the latest patches are not available for everybody, only for those who've installed the "genuine advantage" plugin, by getting the updates from this autopatcher you would be circumventing this... making it.. less legal?
Comment from Bosw8er @ 2006/06/19
I'm using it for W2K-installs since over a year.
Can't see why it wouldn't be legal, the pack contains service packs and updates which are available from microsoft.
It's easy because it also holds registry tweaks and you are up and running very fast with a clean install.

I'm not sure how legal this is?
