US to Russia: shutter music site if you want to join the WTO

@ 2006/06/04
The US pressuring other countries to enforce copyright laws to US standars is nothing new. Just last week, popular Swedish BitTorrent tracker site The Pirate Bay was taken offline and its servers confiscated after a raid by the Swedish police. In the aftermath of the raid, concerns about whether Swedish law enforcement was acting at the behest of the US were raised and a demonstration against the crackdown went off as planned in Stockholm on Saturday. (The Pirate Bay is now back up and running.)
