DDR2 contract prices to drop 3-5% in 2H May, but DDR pricing should remain firm

Steady demand for DDR should help contract prices remain firm in the second half of May, while DDR2 prices should drop in the 3-5% range in the same period, according to DRAMeXchange.

Sources at motherboard makers indicated that supply of DDR-supporting Intel 865-series chipsets should begin ebbing in late June, which means demand for DDR should last through mid-July, the firm explained.

DRAMeXchange observed that some chipmakers may lower their DDR2 quotes by 3-5% in the second half of May, but the price drop should be limited.
