Power Color X1600 HDMI prototype card tested
@ 2006/05/16WE MANAGED to get hold of one of the first ATI X1600 HDMI cards. We cannot say it is the first card on the market as we are still talking about a prototype but we did manage to get it up and running. The card uses a small PCB and can fit in just about any case including a home entertainment PC. It sports a VGA connector, HDMI out and SPDIF in. You are supposed to connect your sound card externally to your graphic card and then via HDMI cable you can drive both HD-quality pictures and sound to your TV. I am sure that you will be able to connect the sound internally but you need to know what are you doing.
