Power Color X1600 HDMI prototype card tested

@ 2006/05/16
WE MANAGED to get hold of one of the first ATI X1600 HDMI cards. We cannot say it is the first card on the market as we are still talking about a prototype but we did manage to get it up and running. The card uses a small PCB and can fit in just about any case including a home entertainment PC. It sports a VGA connector, HDMI out and SPDIF in. You are supposed to connect your sound card externally to your graphic card and then via HDMI cable you can drive both HD-quality pictures and sound to your TV. I am sure that you will be able to connect the sound internally but you need to know what are you doing.
