if Cell Factor is anything to go by, sure. Cell Factor still has a few bugs to iron out and the technology is not quite so mature yet (neither are the drivers) but is has potential. However the Physx dedicated card will have serious competition from ATI and nVidia who will let their GPU do extra physics calculations, Microsoft is planning implementing something, and I'm sure there will be a few other competitors who will stick their neck out if the market is mature enough and the games can really use the technology.

Both ATI and nVidia aim at using a 2nd GPU in SLI/CF to do the physics calculations, however that would make their solution MORE expensive than the €300 Physx card (Asus card costs €300 in Belenux FYI). A second videocard high-mid end will always set you back AT LEAST €300, so it'll be a different investment to make.

of course the GFX has the advantage when you play a game which does not use extra physics calculations; see it a bit like the first VOODOO 1 3D accelerator card. Only the rich and most enthusiast of gamers would buy them, and the games supported could be counted on one hand (quake). Look where 3D accelerators are now...

somebody's gotta take the plunge, but it won't be the customer this time around (I hope); we've become a bit wiser and people just love to do the old "let's just wait and see".

those Physx user reviews you are reading on the web are from impuls buyers, they won't stick with the product if something better comes out, they'll just hop over to the next big thing.
