X-rated billionaire Elon [look at me] Musk has just discovered how much his company is paying to Apple for the privilege of being within Apple’s walled garden.
Musk, who is not a fan of paying bills, or even getting planning permission has said that he’s going to have a word with Apple boss Tim Cook about “adjusting” the 30% fee that Apple takes from in-app purchases made via its App Store.
He said that changing the way that it’s charged would maximise the amount that creators on Twitter would receive when followers subscribe to their exclusive content.
His idea is that Apple collects its cash from the subscription fee that Twitter holds onto, rather than 30% of the entire subscription cost which Twitter collects.
