Despite rumours that Intel's first generation GPU was going to be abandoned as part of Intel's cost cutting, Chipzilla insists that Arc will be with us "soon."

For the second time this quarter, Intel Executive Vice President Raja Koduri has had to deny the cancellation of Arc Discrete GPUs. According to Raja, the GPU division did have several obstacles than planned but they persisted and now, Arc is "getting ready for launch."

IAccording to Raja Koduri, the Intel Arc Volume Validation Fab has several Arc discrete GPUs running in the labs and is primed for launch later this month. He put it out on Twitter how he and his team are hacked off by such rumours.

Although, given the amount of trouble Intel has had getting the chip to launch, the fact that Intel CEO Pat [Kicking] Gelsinger vowed to shareholders that he would be chopping a lot of dead wood from Intel, and Arc seems to be an embodiment of dead wood, it is not really surprising that the tech industry expects Arc to be canned.
