Nvidia Faces Fighting Words: Artificial Enthusiasts Found

@ 2006/02/08
In the beginning of week – on the best day for starting a scandal – Nvidia Corp. was accused in seeding shills into forums and communities to promote its products. The fans reportedly received free hardware and officially acted to “educate” users in the forums. We try to attempt to summarize all the information to find out whether advertising methods of hardware companies have reached the point of pretty unfaithful practices.

While there are agencies that engage in the practice of paying consumers for their opinions, it is not-and never has been-a practice of the Arbuthnot Entertainment Group. We do work to solicit the opinions of the community for NVIDIA. The names of those individuals whom we solicit opinions from are not made public in order to assure the quality and honesty of feedback from consumers.

As long as people don't denounce the competitors; I don't see anything illegal with this practice. The bad things are readers bad mouthing other products in favor of his/her own; using his/her forum right to spread rumors. These individuals should be banned from such activities.
