Antec Phantom 500 500W silent power supply

Antec has created a PSU using a combination of the newest technology combined with technology from eons ago. They have created a series of PSUs with casings that have been molded into a giant aluminum heatsinks. The Phantom 350 has no fan whatsoever and the Phantom 500 uses what Antec calls “Hybrid Fan technology.” According to Antec, these PSUs “generate less noise than a mouse. (A dead one, that is)” As I happen to have a Phantom 500 on my test bench today; let’s see if it lives up to that statement.
