Creative Fatal1ty 1010 Mouse Review

The big question is: Does the Fatal1ty 1010 got game? The answer is a qualified "it depends." The mouse is very short, meant to be moved in small precise movements with your fingertips, and as such it doesn't even really come in contact with your palm unless you have very small hands. We found the motion to be smooth and precise, but couldn't get over a couple of the design decisions.

The third button up top is meant to give you one more function in games, and it can be really handy for that, but we found ourselves hitting it for "right click" in basic Windows functions, which did nothing. Sure, we could map that button to right-click in the software, but that defeats the point of having an extra button, doesn't it? The thumb button is recessed a bit too far, so we found the reach and press to use it a little too deliberate—it didn't come as naturally as with other mice. Though it's not used in many games, we have come to appreciate scroll wheels with side-to-side tilt function in Windows, and this function is absent from the Fatal1ty 1010.

looks like Logitech and Razer will continue to duke it out alone on the gamer mouse market.
