Ars Technica 2006 CES coverage

@ 2006/01/05
The Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas is everything the old COMDEX used to be, but no longer is: huge, hyped, and packed with electronics. The show kicked off last night and will stay hoppin' through this weekend.

Eric Bangeman is at the show, and we'll be aiming to bring you thorough coverage, while refraining from reporting on each and every one of the fifteen thousand cell phones launched this year. Thankfully CES has really come of age in recent years, becoming a place where consumer electronics has meant more than "useless gadgetry that no one will buy."

Keep your eyes tuned to our gaming and gadget journal, Opposable Thumbs. Eric is already filing reports there, and there will be plenty more over the next several days. Additionally, our front page coverage will focus on some of the bigger news, but there will be plenty of it, so check back often as our news coverage is going to fly.
