Huawei throws a giant phone party

Hello Mate, here's the Mate20 Pro

Well over 2,000 people, from all over the world, poured into a conference hall in the Excel conference centre in London yesterday to see and listen to a complete bells and whistles exposition of the virtues of Huawei's latest range of phones the Mate 20 and the Mate20 Pro.

We haven't had a chance to put the Pro through its paces yet, but it certainly comes with a bunch of interesting specifications, explored in this article Fudzilla posted yesterday. Huawei said the device also includes some clever artificial intelligences (AI) capabilities – more on this in a separate story.

The Mate20 Pro OLED display measures 6.39 inches and uses the Android 9 operating system and comes with either 6GB of RAM and 128GB of ROM memory, or 8GB+256GB. It also offers a nanomicro card supporting up to 256GB, which you have to buy separately. Huawei claims this nanomicro form factor will be a new standard for the industry. The Mate20 uses ARM's latest CPU.
