Another excellent review covering many;

With holes on the panel, large hole or small with fan or not.

The bottom line - large case performs better.
Side panel poles may or may not provides the best CPU and GPU temp. However, one thing for sure, the air flow in a case with side panel holes will effect negatively on HDD temp as air flow no longer sweep from front to back covering the largest surface area. The fresh air sucks in and takes the shortest distance being sucked out by the exhaust.

Be nice if memory temps were measured also.
