How To Backup Your Hard Drive

@ 2005/05/02
We all know that we should back up our system as soon as possible. But if you're like most of us, you will get to it tomorrow. The problem is that tomorrow rarely ever comes until you experience a serious computer failure and then it’s too late.

Raid 1 data-disks in server
Data disk syncronized to spare pc disk daily (dirsync 20$)
Monthly disk-os-image on cd
Monthly data disk on cd
Two daily mysql dumps local
One daily mysql dump remote

Biggest effort goes to making an easy procedure/manual how to put the spare pc to work (as the server, with all the data) when the server hardware craps out when i'm away ... for pc illiterate people !

Once you lost precious data, you don't mind putting some extra effort to it.
