Helio X20 scores 7006 in GeekBench multi

MediaTek's new Helio X20 chip looks finished and customers should be getting chips as we speak. The company has finished the critical phase of silicon development and verification, and it seems it can be happy with the end result.

Our well connected industry sources provided us with an official GeekBench score run on an actual Helio X20 device. We must note that this is not a device that will ship to the customers, but it is a phone in the final stages of development.

The highest clocked Helio X20, also known as the MT6797 Super, scores 2019 in the single-core GeekBench test and 7006 in the multi-core test. A Snapdragon 820 phone scores 2300 in single-core and 5591 in multi-core. The Snapdragon 820 has four massive cores and it comes as no surprise that this SoC wins in single-threaded loads, but the four big cores cannot keep up with ten cores of the Helio X20.
