AMD also announces new Athlon X4 845 US $70 CPU

In addition to the new Kaveri Refresh APUs and new coolers, AMD also launched the new AMD Athlon X4 845 FM2+ CPU, a quad-core CPU based on the new Excavator CPU architecture.

Based on the same Excavator CPU architecture as AMD's Carrizo APU lineup, the new Athlo X4 845 is quite a surprising addition to the lineup. It features two Excavator modules, or four CPU cores, clocked at 3.5GHz base and 3.8GHz maximum turbo clocks and has on-board graphics card. It has 2MB of L2 cache and offer eight PCI-Express 3.0 lanes, which makes it obvious that this is an entry-level budget SKU.
