Apple releases 2.7GHz dual Power G5

HARDWARE FIRM Apple said it has released a Power PC G5 using dual 2.7GHz CPUs and which will come kitted out with its Tiger OS.
The G5s also have better support for memory, will deploy larger hard drives, and support for a faster Superdrive.

Each machine also comes with 512MB of memory as standard, Apple said, and will support up to 8GHz. The machines will also support dual displays as they come with either ATI Radeon 9650s or 9600. Apple will supply an Nvidia Geforce 6800 Ultra DDL card if you want.

The machines include support for Gigabit Ethernet, Firewire 800/400, have three PCI-X or PCI slots, USB 2.0, optical/analogue digital audio.

Prices start at $3000 for the 2.7GHz machines.
