Alienware jumps gun on dual core Pentium

@ 2005/04/15
PC FIRM Alienware said it will supply a dual core PC using the Pentium Processor Extreme Edition 840 using Intel's 955X "Express" chipset.
The firm said that the 840 supports Hyperthreading, runs at 3.2GHz, comes with 2MB L2 cache and clocks with a 800MHz front side bus.

The machines it will deliver support DDR2-667 memory, and Intel's matrix storage technology, as well as the execute disable bit.

It did not say how much it will sell the machines for. The ExE 840 processor is probably one of the most hyped processors Intel has ever launched, although it hasn't launched it yet.
