Abit Fatal1ty AA8XE overclocks to 4200 MHz

WE PLAYED WITH Abit's latest greatest Intel motherboard called Fatal1ty AA8XE and managed to get some very impressive scores.
Abit has "Guru" overclocking, a very user friendly Windows based overclocking tool. With a few alterations to voltages we managed to overclock a Pentium 570J CPU from its original 3800MHz to a quite impressive 4200 GHz. We cooled the motherboard with Coolermaster's aluminium based cooler and we made the board perfectly stable all the time.

We got that speed with 19 x 221 MHz and we could go even a few MHz faster but we kind of like round numbers here at the INQ. Remember AMD is about to launch its 4200+.

We managed to run 3Dmark03 and 3Dmark05 but we haven't more magnificent scores as it seems that especially 3Dmark05 is not that CPU demanding. I guess we need dual core to boost the scores but not in games as 3.2 is actually slower than 4.2, that's for sure. ยต

I will still enjoy it.
but I will enjoy it less

WHAT IF -

Processors from AMD and INTEL cannot be overclocked, period, would you still be a PC enthusiast?

I certainly remember well my slot 1 450mhz mounted on Abit board in 1998 running at 588 mhz. I was very happy when I received my docking station (full blown one) for my Toshiba 486 2x50. I was overjoy when I got my emulation card so that my PC at work could be tapped into CICS mainframe.

I felt wonderful when I mastered basic-a in 1979; and I was equally happy when I learnt C++ in late 90's.

I enjoy working with PC then, I will enjoy computing with or without any overclocking.

Peace ...

what the **** is going on...

It's like every cpu coming out of Intel's factories is an ES.

Just look around on the Intel forum on XS... it's ES here, ES there, ES everywhere...

ok I'm just jealous, so what especially when I look at these morons their "impressive" overclocks

I was also thinking the same, but then I started doubting, why would they say it's such a great overclock ?
So I remained silent, just not to say anything stupid :rod:

Haha, 4200Ghz, they'd wish .

But why did they use that way too high multi. I'd realy love to see wath FSB power this board has (especialy since AMD boards can go to +300Mhz)

Imagine what you can do with water cooling
