Up to 20MB cache, overclockable K an X SKUs

Intel plans to launch an update to the Haswell-E high-end line of processors and it calls them Broadwell-E.

They will enter production in January of 2016 and should launch before the end of the quarter. We expect to see them before the end of March 2016. Intel has shared a few details with some of its partners, but we still don't have all the details. The new high-end processor line will come in six-core and eight-core versions.

The eight-core version will have up to 20 MB Intel smart cache and it will support Turbo boost 2 technology. Following tradition, Broadwell-E will support Hyperthreading technology as well as overclocking with Extreme Edition X and K SKUs. Intel calls this processor line HEDT (High End DeskTop processor line) and the new processor supports 4-channel DDR4 2400 memory with 1 DIMM per channel.
