@ 2015/05/04
igabyte Z97X-UD5H-BK Rev 1.0 motherboard is mostly black- expansion slots, PCB, passive sinks and a lot more than that. The motherboard maker claims that its Black Edition motherboards have gone through 168 hours of 'server grade durability' testing. On top of it, it comes with a 5-year warranty.

On paper, it looks very attractive to attract a large set of users. A total of 6x native SATA III and 2x SATA III via a Marvell controller. The ethernet controllers used are Intel I217-V Gigabit LAN and another LAN but with Killer E2201 from Qualcomm. Lets also not forget the M.2 standard, considering NVMe is just around the corner thanks to Intel 750 SSD. As of now, motherboard makers have rolled out BETA bios. Considering at the time of writing both MSI and Asus have revealed the NVMe Add-on that utilizes the PCB, Z97 and X99 boards from Gigabyte should have that support. After all, Gigabyte did list an F6 Beta BIOS which contained NVMe support.
