Newer Gigabyte motherboard revisions perform significantly worse than original
@ 2014/12/23As you may have noticed, there have been some rumours regarding different Gigabyte motherboard revisions.
Hardware.Info acquired some newer versions of the B85M-D2V and B85M-HD3 motherboards and tested these to compare to the original 1.0 revisions.
The test results are shocking: the Rev 2.0 of the D2V lacks a number of components and even misses a feature from the official spec list (Dual BIOS), the Rev 2.0 of the HD3 performs significantly worse than the 1.0 version, thanks to a vastly decreased number of mosfets leading to rapid CPU throttling and severely decreased performance.
