Elmshorn, Germany, 2014-11-26 – Based on the Intel H97 chipset,
Shuttle today launches the XPC Barebone SH97R6, a solution measuring
just 20 cm in height and designed for the rapid creation of customised
Mini PCs. Motherboard, cooling system and power supply come
pre-installed enabling speedy assembly.

The chassis, case cover and front panel are all made from strong
lightweight aluminium. Measuring just 33.2 x 21.6 x 19.8 cm (DWH),
this model opens up new options for stationary and mobile applications
with multiple high-resolution monitors.

The SH97R6 offers a remarkable array of connections as well as
outstanding compatibility. It supports Intel Desktop processors for
socket LGA1150 with a maximum TDP of 95 W and is therefore suitable
for Core i3/i5/i7, Pentium and Celeron models. The four DIMM slots on
the in-house developed motherboard enable up to 32 GB of DDR3 memory.
4x SATA 6 Gbit/s and 2x eSATA drive connections are provided. The case
offers sufficient space for one 5.25" drive and two 3.5" drives. Even
more drives can be fitted by using the optional mounting frame PHD3.

"Despite the progressive miniaturisation of IT systems, our
cube-format models represent a product segment with a combination of
features that cannot be achieved by any other product on the market,"
says Tom Seiffert, Head of Marketing & PR at Shuttle Computer Handels
GmbH. "The huge freedom in terms of choice of components as well as
the upgrade options are unrivalled."

Even without a separate graphics card it is possible to connect up to
three monitors to the SH97R6, each of which can be controlled
separately. At the back of the machine are 2x DisplayPort and 1x HDMI
connections, which are compatible with 4K resolutions and deliver
refresh rates of 60 Hz (DP) or 30 Hz (HDMI). If additional monitor
connections or more graphics performance are required, a graphics card
can be fitted in the PCI-Express x16 3.0 slot. Large dual-slot
graphics cards are also supported.

The model shown here offers one PCI-Express x4 2.0 slot and two
Mini-PCI-Express slots, of which one is also prepared for mSATA SSDs.
In addition, at the front and rear of the machine sit 4x USB 3.0, 6x
USB 2.0 and practical 7.1 audio connections. Gigabit Ethernet is also
present just as an expansion option with the optional WLAN module
WLN-C.

The heatpipe-cooled SH97R6 comes supplied with a 300 W power unit,
which is plenty for most system configurations. A higher-performance
power supply is optionally available.

Shuttle's recommended retail price for the XPC Barebone SH97R6 is
244.00 Euro (ex VAT). The machine described in this press release is
available from specialist retailers Europe-wide as of now.

Optional accessories include the PHD3 (2.5" mounting frame), H-RS232
(COM port adapter), PC63J (500 W power supply unit) and WLN-C (WLAN
kit).
