Compact Barebone for three high-resolution monitors

- Scalable from Office PC to 4K player
- Space for multiple drives and a wide range of accessories

Elmshorn, Germany, 2014-10-24. Shuttle Computer Handels GmbH, the
European subsidiary of Shuttle Inc., one of the leading developers and
manufacturers of compact PC solutions such as the world-renowned XPC
Mini-PC Barebones, today launches a 7 cm tall barebone for current and
future Intel desktop processors for socket LGA1150. The Shuttle
Barebone XH97V is the first Shuttle machine capable of controlling
three monitors in parallel alone by the graphics unit integrated in
the CPU.

The XH97V features Intel's H97 chipset which supports the fourth and
fifth generation of Intel Core processors. The quiet dual-fan heatpipe
cooling system is suitable for use with Core i3, i5 and i7 processors
up to a maximum TDP of 65W. In combination with up to 16 GB of DDR3
SO-DIMM memory and a total of three drives with 6 Gbit/s (e.g. modern
SSDs) users can create an outstandingly powerful complete PC at a
small footprint.

2x DisplayPort and 1x HDMI allow for showing different content spread
across three monitors. The DisplayPorts can run 4K monitors at 60 Hz,
while the HDMI port enables a 4K monitor to run at 30 Hz, if required.
The performance of the graphics function integrated in the Intel Core
processors is sufficient to play back 3x 1080p (Full HD) or 1x 2160p
(4K/Ultra HD) without overloading the processor.

Protected by drive doors, the front panel reveals various ports which
are continued at the back. These include 4x USB 3.0 and 2.0, eSATA,
RS-232, Gigabit Ethernet and a number of audio connectors. When
opening the case, three additional SATA 6 Gbit/s ports, VGA and an
always-on jumper can be found on the motherboard. The two
Mini-PCI-Express slots can be used to fit the XH97V e.g. with WLAN and
an mSATA-SSD.

The black case in a typical 3-litre format makes installation of the
following drive configurations possible: 2x 2.5" SSD/HDD and 1x
Slimline ODD or 3x 2.5" SSD/HDD. A new option is the ability to
install a 3.5" drive and run connected SATA drives as RAID. Standing
flat without pedestal, the XH97V measures just 24 x 20 x 7.2 cm (DWH)
in any configuration.

Operation at ambient temperatures between 0-50 degrees is no problem
at all for this model. However, the use of SSDs instead of hard disks
is recommended.

"By using the H97 chipset, the XH97V is equipped to support both the
current and coming generation of Intel processors," says Tom Seiffert,
Head of Marketing & PR at Shuttle Computer Handels GmbH. "Thanks to
the intelligent combination of features and functions, it is possible
to use this machine in countless environments and for demanding
applications."

The recommended retail price for the Shuttle Barebone XH97V is 193
Euros (ex VAT). The machine described in this press release is
available from specialist retailers across Europe as of now.

Optional accessories include the PS01 (pedestal), PHD4 (mounting frame
for 3.5" drive), WLN-S (WLAN kit) and the PV02 (VESA mount).
