New Tomb Raider game coming exclusively to Xbox One next year

Since its start in 1996, the Tomb Raider series has been proudly platform agnostic, launching on PlayStation, PC and Sega Saturn back in the day. So it came as some surprise this morning when Microsoft announced that sequel Rise of the Tomb Raider will be coming exclusively to Xbox One in time for the 2015 holiday season.

"Our friends at Microsoft have always seen huge potential in Tomb Raider and have believed in our vision since our first unveil with them on their stage at E3 2011," developer Crystal Dynamics writes in a blog post accompanying the announcement at Microsoft's Gamescom press briefing. "We know they will get behind this game more than any support we have had from them in the past—we believe this will be a step to really forging the Tomb Raider brand as one of the biggest in gaming, with the help, belief and backing of a major partner like Microsoft."

sigh, what a dumb move again, exclusives in this day and age is so stupid...
previous Tomb Raider I enjoyed a lot on PC and PS3!

seeing as the rereleased it for PS4/XBONE with higher resolution textures, I don't understand why they would make it exclusive here
