@ 2005/01/08YESTERDAY AT this show we managed to talk to our good friend, ATI CEO Dave Orton, and he told us that ATI has shipped quite a few R430 chips already. Senior VP Rick Bergman confirmed the claims and said that the company is doing fine in providing both R430 and R480 chips to its customers.
This finally means that ATI might start shipping its products after the announcement as X800XL, X800 and X850XT PE cards should be ready shortly. Taiwanese companies here said that for a change they can get those chips even now and that they are doing the last preparations before they launch the cards in retail. Their samples are either ready or will be shipped out very soon.
