And that's because when you look at the individual frames, the GTX Titan has more consistent render times. Add to that the lower energy consumption and noise levels, the Titan is a better card than a GTX 690 or a Radeon HD 7990. And you always have the option to add three more Titans to your setup, even if spending € 4000 on graphics cards only is difficult to justify for most people.
