These synthetic 3D benchmarks from Futuremark allow you to evaluate the expected performance of a system with different generations of games. As each 3DMark uses different features and quality settings, it allows you to get an idea of how your system will perform.
Let’s start with the oldest batch of Futuremark benchmarks, 3DMark03, 05 and 3DMark06
The factory overclock gives a small boost over the reference clocks; most noticeable in the older 3DMark03.
Since we’re using Vista as our host OS it’s time to test the latest Futuremark addition, 3DMark Vantage was run with the Performance preset (1280x1024 resolution, no AA):
A 4~5% boost in 3DMark Vantage with the factory overclocked MSI 9600 GT, noticeable in benchmark scores, but does it make a difference in games?
