Installation

The installation on AM2 is straight forward, using the standard AMD bracket and the metal clip provided. On the S775 platform you get by default the 4 plastic push pins which secure the heatsink without much trouble, plug and play, as long as you can reach all push pins, if not, motherboard removal is required.

For those who want better performance, Xigmatek responded to fans which started using a bolt-through mounting kit on their heatsinks. We tested the HDT with the Thermalright S775 bolt-through kit, Xigmatek’s own version is almost identical in design, but comes at a lower price, think €4-5.

With everything installed we’re ready for the performance tests; the FAN on the Red Scorpion features red LED lightening, as expected :)
