WR breaking benchmark:We all know Madshrimps is preparing an overclocking article regarding the Galaxy 9600GT (
reviewed here). Yesterday, two of the OC-Team.BE overclocking team, hosted by Madshrimps, decided to go for a quick LN² session. The Tek9 3.0 LN² container didn't fit perfectly (just off by a few inches), so we agreed on doing a bit of CPU testing first, with the 9600GT on stock air cooling.
We were a bit troubled by the PWM area of the motherboard and the E8500,
which we tested earlier on, didn't go as high as expected (maybe related to each other), but we in the end, we managed to set a new world record in the 9600GT 3DMark01 class. With the card still on stock cooling (voltmodded though), we can only say that the next set of LN2 runs will be smashing. This card definitely has the power to reach insane heights, so we're aiming at 100k 3DMarks the next time, with this mid-range video card.
