P4 2.4B-2.4C with 865PE-875P vs AXP 2500+ with nForce2

With the newly released Springdale (865PE) and Canterwood (875P) motherboards and 800FSB P4?s, intel has taken a huge leap in both stock speed and overclockability. Will this crush the competition - the very affordable nForce2 + Barton combo - or are PAT, Hyperthreading, integrated S-ATA, and Gigabit lan just buzz words?

The script is flipped. What we have here are equal 50% clockspeed gains, with both FSB's being equal. The P4's gaining roughly 10% more out of it's clockspeed gains than the Athlon, at an efficiency clip of nearly 20% better.

It appears that the P4 still has a pretty good ways to go, while the Athlon line is nearly played out. Perhaps if AMD could figure out a way to go quad-FSB...but we already know they've got their eggs in the Hammer-basket.

With all the raw power of all systems tested to the bone, lets see what the onboard features bring..
