EVGAEVGA was the only one at Cebit to show an almost naked 9800 GX2, with custom watercooling. Left we see the reference card, right the card with the waterblock. The two cores are both pointing to the inside, which makes it easier to install watercooling. Just one "dual sided" block is needed.
The two PCBs are linked together with a flexible SLI bridge.
A closer look at the block.
A side view. Notice the holes in the PCBs. Normally there's a fan behind these holes to such cold air in between the cards.
Something new we've seen is the dual (and more) monitor break out box. It only requires a free USB port, and you'll have an extra DVI port.
The DVI port. The box is barely larger then the port.
Here you can see it in action. (Well, it's not on the picture, but you get the intention ;-)) Installed on the new dual screen setup from EVGA.
Further we see the new cooling on the 8800 GT card.
With a rear heatpipe cooler.
I've made some more pictures at the EVGA booth, showing the new main boards, and the fancy new screen. But as I left my own cam at home, I borrowed a smaller Canon Ixus, but had some troubles making decent pictures. So our apologies for this.
ZotacZotac didn't show much new this year. Just one wall with some 8800 and 8600 cards. What they had to show, was this 8800 GT card, with a display port?
They claim to be the first introducing this on the 8800 cards.
And as for every new interface, there is also a converter for it to the more common used ports.
