Razer Prez Shares His Thoughts P2

Although many gamers tend to believe these gaming companies only focus on hardware, software is still a priority. "We have a very huge office in China that does nothing but firmware development," Krakoff said. It is not uncommon to receive crazy customization software with new mice and keyboards, even though sometimes the software can be... interesting.

As young people transition from watching TV programs and going to the movie theater for entertainment, video games now help keep young gamers entertained. This trend also opens the doors for gamers to entertain the idea of spending their cash on products to make the gaming experience more enjoyable.

What role do gaming peripherals play in the grand scheme of things? Many gamers are very competitive - and real gaming devices help push the boundaries. Even though there will always be people not willing to spend $50+ on a mouse, those who do drop the cash tend to be pleased with the better gaming results.

Robert and I discussed gaming for more than one hour, but one statement he said still rings true in my mind: "Gaming is a passion," he said during the conversation - and we agree. The moment a company forgets gaming is a passion, is the same moment gamers will lose faith in the company.

What does the future hold for Razer and gaming products in general? Next year will focus on amazing new products, but 2009 should help usher in the new generation of gaming technologies. As always, Razer wants to hear from its customers -- check the Razer site to see what the company is doing behind the scenes - and to drop a line to the people who matter.

Interesting question, Sidney.

It's rather surprising the amount of married people who play, though they often act/sound like the typical male under the age of 22.
