These synthetic systems tests from Futuremark give you a good overall idea of performance between the video cards: you should not solely rely on these results though as the game benchmarks do not always reflect these rankings.

The older 3D Mark 2001 doesn't really scale well with more GPU power, though 3D Mark 2003 and 2006 showed us a nice boost, up to 20% extra performance!

Average clock increase of 27% gives us 19% higher performance in 3D Mark 2006. Taking away the possible bottleneck of the CPU in games might show us very likely results, at least, that's what we hope for. SM2 and SM3 tests increased with ~25%, nice charts ahead?
