Coming to the end of our product review, here is a final chart of the game benchmarks wr ran through:

1600x1200 with every in-game detail maxed out and high image quality settings enabled becomes available for everyone without having to use NVIDIA's SLI technology. Yes, OCZ's 8800GTX really is a beast! Overall it doubles the performance of previous generation high-end 7900GTX card.

The OCZ Geforce 8800 GTX uses a driver controlled 7cm fan which makes this card very silent whenever decent airflow is present and it protects the card from overheating by altering the fan speed dynamically on the fly.

Beware though that there are some requirements, it's not al glamour and glory... OCZ's 8800 GTX draws lots of power from you power supply; therefore it might be possible that one has to finance a PSU upgrade on top of the VGA purchase.

OCZ’s retail box doesn't provide much cool add-ons and with a prize of $589.99 (US dollar) you might want to ask yourself the question: Do I really need all this performance, right now? If you have a monitor with native resolution of 1600x1050/1200 you’ll find that the Geforce 8800 GTX can run any current game at maximum settings, and will be future proof. If, however, you are running a lower resolution, the G80 will be limited by your system (CPU/RAM) and will churn out very high frame rates no matter the IQ settings. Make sure that you have the components that fit the high end attitude of the Geforce 8800 GTX to fully profit from its potential; this doesn’t mean CPU/MEM only, but also the size of your display screen.

Let's sum things up:

+ Extreme performance!
+ Programmable fan: low noise

- No games/extras bundled
- Requires 450W PSU with minimum 30A @ 12V
- Price: $589.99
