Casetek V.Orpheus ATX Midi Case Review

Cases & PSU/Cases by jmke @ 2007-02-23

Casetek V.Orpheus is a midi-sized ATX case with a massive 220mm fan slapped on the side panel and a fully functional fan controller and temp readout in the front on a large LCD. All this can be had for a competitive price, so where the catch? We place a high end Core 2 system inside and compare its thermal/noise results with the competition.

Introduction & Specs

Casetek, as the company name may imply, is a manufacturer of cases, they have an impressive line-up of enthusiast and business minded products. I counted over 20 enclosures ranging from small mini-ITX design up to full towers. Today I test their mid-sized V.Orpheus case which incorporates a novel cooling system behind the motherboard panel and comes with a large LCD screen which offers temperature monitoring and fan controller options.

The side panel with window is optional, all the rest is included, it’s a solid steel construction, so it’s quite heavy.

Comparison the size of the V.Orpheus with the Antec Nine Hunderd Performance case, both are quite similar dimension wise:
