Cases & PSU/Cases by jmke @ 2007-02-09

With the TJ09 Silverstone is focusing on airflow to dissipate the heat of Dual/Quad core processors and especially high end VGA cards. Their design is classic elegant with functional and clean looks. This is a high end product made for high end systems, can it keep a Core 2 / Geforce 8800 GTX cool enough? We find out.

With the left side panel removed you have access to most areas of the TJ09, the power supply is located at the bottom of the case, and the HDD area is completely closed of from the mainboard area (in the photo below the HDD cages are removed). Next to the HDD area you can see a 120mm fan intake and the separate opening which lines up with the cut-outs in the side panels.

Looking at the other side of the case reveals access to two thumbscrews which remove the HDD area’s fan cooling tray:

The tray fits one 120mm fan, in the photo below I used a Papst 120mm for demo purposes:

The TJ09 features a removable motherboard tray, it is held in place by a series of thumbscrews at the back.

R600 retail is 9.5" long, G80 GTX is 11.8", you do the math
