LooksAs for most things in life, first judgement is done mainly on the looks. SilverStone wanted to make sure the shipment came over secure, as it was shipped in a 50x50x50cm over box, and wrapped in approx. 50m of foam. Opening the box, the package looks unharmed.
The looks are as one would expect from SilverStone: stylish and to the point
Opening the box, you’ll find the power-supply, accompanied by an 18AWG power cord, the manual, and 4 black screws. First thing you’ll notice when unpacking is the huge weight. With almost 2,2kg it isn’t a light-weight.
As for connectors, there are more than plenty, and with cable lengths of 50 cm for the first connector it is suitable for almost any case. The power supply comes with a 12V ATX connector only, so if you need an EPS connector, you’ll need to do some modding, or apply a special bridge. The supply is cooled by a 12cm temperature controlled fan, and hot air is pushed out the back side.
On the side is the sticker with the tech-specs, and all the other things you’ll want to know, as the CE-brand, US.R. number etc.
Enough about the outside though, time for the Internals ->
I think this will be my next PSU for my HTPC case. Sounds very good.
I wanted to kick out my old Noname PSU in any way, as it is getting too loud.
Now I read, that even efficiency is very interesting in new PSU's.
over 80%, thats great, I do not want to know, how less efficiency my noname has......
Thanks for the Review and the informations guys.
