Closer & Installation

The workmanship and detail on the NT06 is excellent, no sharp edges are to be found, the heatsink is compact, yet it won’t fit the smallest of cases, its strength lies in its low height which helps it fit into Silverstone’s own “cube” sized cases.

Looking at the bottom of the heatsink you’ll notice some traces of machine lapping on the base, but it’s quite smooth overall. The mounting brackets screwed onto the base can be moved/switched out to give you the freedom of orientating the heatsink in the optimal direction.

Installation

From the bag of goodies included with the NT06 the following is needed for installation on AMD Socket 939/754 when keeping with the default orientation:

While motherboard removal is required, the actual installation of the heatsink onto the CPU is quite easy, after securing the screws through the mounting holes the thumbscrews can be tightened quickly.

The NT06 can be rotated freely in steps of 90°, this helps you make the NT06 fit in smaller cases; below are 2 of the 4 possible positions demonstrated:
