Club 3D: WC, HTPC and TV

Club 3D

Club 3D is focusing on high end product this year, with high performance parts like this water cooled X1900XTX, they have changed their retail packaging to go along with their sleek black product's looks, and they are absent of any flashy pictures of women or dragons etc. A simple black design with logo and product description. Less is more and their philopsy behind their choices are well though out.

They also had a water cooled kit running in demo

The water block for the X1900XTX cools both GPU and Memory chips as well as the small area of resistors near the back of the card.

Not quite high end graphics card, but still quite interesting, were their USB ZapTV receivers, two laptops were showing EuroSport channel through the use of this nifty device, these ZapTV products come with own tuner software which can scan for channels quickly and you can be looking at digital television feeds, no matter where you are, in a matter of minutes.

The other none gaming related product at their booth is a PCIe based TV tuner from their ZapTV product line which allows you to watch an Analog and Digital feed at the same time; something which can not be done with its PCI brother that you can see on the right on the photo above.

Club 3D is moving forward into the home theater PC market as it's set to boom in Europe; they had a HTPC running with X1900XTX inside, not the most silent solution when running with air cooling, it does allow progressive scan at resolutions needed for High Definition television. While lower end products from ATI and nVidia can be cooled passively (photo below) they are limited to lower resolutions when it comes down to progressive scanning.

Club 3D then showed us their sound cards in PCI format, the Theatron DD, that's right, it has nothing to do with video, but is very important for your HTPC if you value high quality sounds. The cards support Dolby Digital and are ideal for DVD watching, when we asked if it would be as suited as a Creative product when it comes down to gaming, they invited into their comfortable couch where a large flat screen was set up and 5.1 DD certified speakers set installed. Battle For Middle Earth 2's introduction scene launched and sound effects where coming at us from all sides, very enjoyable and impressive to say the least.

Something worth mentioning is that Club 3D is not “chip” specific, they carry products of nVidia, ATI and S3, offering their clients the best of what is currently out there without having to restrict themselves to one single company’s product line.
