17-Way roundup of 120mm fans from different manufactures including Scythe, Aerocool, Nexus, GlobalWin, Spire, Coolermaster, Papst, Coolink, Acoustifan, mCubed and AC Ryan. We test their performance both temperature as noise wise - and include sound samples of the fans running at different voltages so you can compare them head to head. Are all fans created equal? Let?s find out.

If you want higher performance without too much noise, the Scythe “F”, mCubed X12 and AcoustiFan Dustproof strike a good balance. When you’re looking for out of the box very silent fans the Nexus and Aerocool are very interesting. If you want best of both words, the GlobalWin will make an excellent choice.

But only testing the fans at one voltage tells but a part of the story, let’s see how they rank when we reduce the fan speeds by only feeding them with 7v ->
