Installation

Installation:

My test system is based around an Athlon 64 3700+

easypanic's setup
CPU San Diego 3700+
Mainboard DFI NF4 SLI-DR
Memory 2*512Mb PC3200 OCZ
VGA ATI XT850XT PCI-E

The manual for installation located on the side of the box, but it’s not really needed, as installation is very straight forward

The bottom of the heatsink is quite smooth, but it ain’t no mirror finish:

The round insert (from the Heat Column) fits perfectly in the center of the Athlon 64 IHS. Before I can install the block on the CPU I need to remove the motherboard and place the custom black plate, this whole process takes only 5-10 minutes (depending on how gifted you are)

Using the screws made installation very easy! Time to check how much contact this block provides:

Perhaps I added a bit too much Artic Silver III, but you have a nice view of the contact area. The blocks fits very well and you see how the center makes good contact with my CPU.

While I attached the tubing to the fittings I encountered one small draw back. The inlet fitting is placed right above the mounting plate and this makes it hard to get the tubing one, but not impossible:

Let’s compare its performance to my other water blocks ->
