Silverstone TJ06 "Wind Tunnel" Case Review

Cases & PSU/Cases by JNav89GT @ 2004-12-07

Cases have evolved greatly in the years I have been in this hobby. We as enthusiasts use our cases as a signature of our individuality or personal expression. Some like certain colors, others like the ?bling-bling?. The Silverstone TJ06 provides us with one of the most compelling reasons never to return to plain beige boredom, with what is definitely the highest quality case I have had the pleasure to work with.

Well after a few days of testing this case, I can without a doubt say this is the best case I have ever had the pleasure to use. Silverstone definitely has done a stellar job of engineering a case worthy to house high end computer components. Combining several key innovations, the performance of this case exceeded my expectations and provided excellent cooling capabilities. The Aluminium/Steel hybrid chassis design accomplishes a goal of provided a high quality and good looking unit, although at somewhat of a weight penalty over a straight Aluminium case. Then again, I will certainly accept the added weight when the accompanying quality is so far above the Aluminium or Steel cases I have used in the past.

Priced competitively given the competition and high quality the Silverstone TJ06 is associated with, this is not a bargain case, and should not be confused with such units. Available from different vendors at a competitive price it is actually quite a bargain in my opinion given the refinement and thought that has gone into this case. For this reason, the Silverstone TJ06 receives very enthusiastic thumbs up from me, and a hearty recommendation.

If I had a blue ribbon, it would be slapped on this case faster than my daughter can swipe my screwdriver (which incidentally is very fast indeed). Good thing I only needed my screwdriver for a very short time period as I'm still looking for it.

I would like to thank the Crew at SilverStone Technology Co., Ltd for providing this case for review.
