The software that comes with the Cool Drive 6 is very intuitive, and I had no problems renaming devices and fans, setting fan speeds and alerts, everything went with point and click ease.

The first tab gives you details about HDD usage, such as current transfer rate, space used, max/ average speed:

On the second tab you can see the controls for fan speed and the temperatures measured by the included thermal sensors. The fan speed can be adjusted in little steps with an up/down button as can the limits for the temperature alarms. One word about the 4.4cm build-in fan: even at top speed it is almost noiseless; I’ve had other experiences with those little fans, Cooler Master provided a silent one luckily!

The third tab is used for selecting/naming the HDD you want information about (if more then one device used) and gives you information about the type of HDD used. Here you can also change the idle message that is displayed on the 9 character blue backlit/white text lcd screen.

When in normal operation order, the 9 character LCD display cycles through the temperature and fan channels displaying temperatures (either in °C or °F) and fan speeds (in rpm).
