Cases & PSU/Power Supplies by piotke @ 2003-12-08

Last week I got a call from a friend. His PSU was too loud, so I planned to do something about it.
I went to the local hardware shop, and they pointed me towards an Aopen 300Watt PSU. (FSP300-60PN) Sounds like an ordinary PSU ? Take a look at what I got !

Some time ago a friend complained that his computer was too loud. After some testing, he concluded that the loudest part from his computer was the power supply unit.
So he asked me to buy a silent, decent and cheap PSU. Seemed easy? No! Try finding a cheap PSU that is really silent, and stable? I started my quest in the local hardware shop.

There, they advised me this PSU. An Aopen 300 watt, but cooled with a 120 mm fan. This for only €45. They said it was silent, good looking and stable. True? Let's take a closer look.
